4月16日，菲律宾总统府突然宣布，卫生部两名高层官员已被免职。不过总统府并未透露具体解雇的原因。
总统府新闻官克莱尔·卡斯特罗（Claire Castro）向媒体出示了致卫生部长特奥多罗·赫尔博萨（Teodoro Herbosa）的两封信函，内容分别为：卫生部助理部长阿列尔·瓦伦西亚（Ariel Valencia）任期届满，以及终止哈伊梅·贝尔纳达斯（Jaime Bernadas）担任四级局长（Director IV）的延长服务安排。
这两封信件日期均为2025年4月15日，由总统执行秘书卢卡斯·贝尔萨明（Lucas Bersamin）签署。
总统府未透露两人被免职的具体原因，但卡斯特罗表示：“当你是‘随任官员’时，你的任期可能随时终止。”所谓“随任官员”，是指任期不固定，任职时间取决于任命者意愿的政府官员，一般可由总统随时任免。
